Herbs, flowers and trees are our allies for transformation and alchemy. From visionary nightshades to protective thorns, they are our teachers of transformation. We have been taught to poison these 'weeds' and fear these 'banes,' but in doing so, we have silenced the very voices that can lead us back to our original state.
Here, we do not see plants as mere resources, but as sentient teachers of the Great Work.
To work with the Herbs of the Poison Path is to accept an invitation to change. These allies do not offer comfort they offer transmutation. They challenge the programming of your fear and replace it with the wisdom of the earth’s most potent shadows

Datura Datura stramonium or Datura inoxia, often called Thornapple or Devil’s Trumpet.
In the Poison Path, Datura is the master of the "Waking Dream." It is a powerful Lunar herb known for its ability to dissolve the boundary between reality and the subconscious. The Path of the Dreamer.
Datura teaches us the art of surrender. It forces us to confront the illusions of the ego, stripping away what you think you know to show you what is actually there.
Historically used in Flying Ointments to induce spirit flight and astral travel.
Work with her through Nocturnal Observation. You don't need the plant to understand her. Meditate during the dark of the moon on the concept of "Surrender." Datura teaches that when we stop fighting reality, the "magic" begins.
Never ingest. Use her image as a "Mirror" to see your own shadows. We respect her power by not touching.

The Path of the Silent Watcher. Often called Deadly Nightshade or Lady of the Shadows.
In the Poison Path, Belladonna is the mistress of "Stillness." She is a powerful Saturnian herb known for her ability to expand the inner eye while freezing the physical body. She is the guardian of the threshold.
Belladonna teaches us the power of the Void. She forces us to sit in the darkness without fear, teaching that true vision only comes when we stop searching for light and learn to see in the blackness.
Historically used in Flying Ointments to dilate the soul and allow the practitioner to pass through walls and hedges unnoticed.
Tune into her essence when you feel scattered or over-stimulated. Ask her to grant you the "Fixed Gaze" the ability to see the truth without blinking.
We honor her by acknowledging that some secrets are only told in silence. We respect her power by not touching.

The Path of the Ancestor. Often called Hog’s Bean or Jupiter’s Bean.
In the Poison Path, Henbane is the bridge to the "Other Side." It is a Saturnian herb with a Jupiterian bite, known for its ability to stir the air and call forth the voices of those who have passed. The rattle of the bone.
Henbane teaches us the art of Communication. It breaks down the barriers of time and lineage, showing us that we are never truly alone and that our ancestors walk just a hair’s breadth away.
Historically used to induce prophetic states and to summon the shades of the other side for questioning. We honor the dead by listening more than we speak. We respect her power by not touching.

The Path of the Earth-Double. Often called the Anthropomorphic Root or Alraun.
In the Poison Path, Mandrake is the master of "Vitality and Protection." It is a deep Saturnian/Mercurial spirit that mimics the human form to act as a shield and a powerhouse for the practitioner's intent.
Mandrake teaches us about the "Shadow Self." Because the root looks like us, it shows us that our greatest magic comes from the parts of ourselves we keep buried in the dirt. It is the spirit of the "Under-Earth."
Historically used as a powerful talisman for protection, luck, and as a "spirit-container" to house a witch's familiar.

The Path of the Oracle. Often called Angel’s Trumpet.
In the Poison Path, Brugmansia is the mistress of "Clear Audience." While her cousin Datura rules the waking dream, Brugmansia rules the Voice. She is a powerful Lunar and Solar herb that acts as a megaphone for the spirits, turning the whispers of the air into clear, audible guidance.

Foxglove (Digitalis purpurea) We honor the Bell-Ringer by listening to the silence between the beats. We respect her power by not touching. Often called Dead Man’s Bells, Witches' Gloves, or Fairy Thimbles. She is the gatekeeper of the heart’s hidden chambers.

The Path of the Winter Solstice. Often called the Christmas Rose or Lenten Rose.
In the Poison Path, Hellebore is the master of "The Deep Freeze." It is a classic Saturnian herb that blooms when the rest of the world is dead and frozen. It governs the power of persistence through the harshest conditions and the ability to find beauty in the coldest shadows. We honor the Winter Queen by acknowledging that growth often happens in the dark. We respect her power by not touching.

The Path of the Bitter Truth. Often called Green Muse or Old Woman.
In the Poison Path, Wormwood is the mistress of "Visions and Cleansing." She is a Martian herb with a heavy Lunar influence. She is famous for her intense bitterness, which acts as a spiritual scouring pad, stripping away parasites of the spirit and opening the doors to the astral realm. Wormwood teaches us the art of Fortitude. She shows us that truth is often bitter and hard to swallow, but it is the only thing that truly sets us free. She is the "Wake Up Call" of the herbal world, clearing the psychic fog so you can see exactly who and what is around you.

The Path of the Ever Return. Often called the Churchyard Yew or the Tree of Death.
In the Poison Path, Yew is the master of "The Great Transition." It is a supreme Saturnian spirit, representing the bridge between life, death, and rebirth. The Yew does not simply die it folds back into itself to grow again, making it the ultimate guardian of the cemetery and the ancient gate.
Yew teaches us the art of Ancestral Memory. It holds the record of centuries within its red berries and dark needles. It forces us to look at the long game reminding us that what we consider an "end" is usually just a change in form. It is the silence of the graveyard and the wisdom of the bone.
